Colors

The chaos of life contained in shades of experience. Rich hues mingle, absorbed in their own vibrancy, perhaps finding a complimentary dance partner. Possessing a unique resonance, the vortex of sound is often times seen in colors.

Trees of Life

The direction taken depends wholly on the question: What kind of tree is your life? Is it full of sunshine, fish, clouds, or chili peppers? How quickly too the path may change. Roots firm in the ground, a trunk holding the body of life, limbs stretching for the stars.

Canyon

Lithography was invented by Alois Senefelder in Bohemia in 1796. Back in the day a smooth piece of limestone was used, hence the name “lithos” (λιθος) from the ancient Greek word for stone. After the oil-based image was applied to the surface, a solution of gum arabic in water was applied, the gum sticking only to the non-oily surface. During printing, water adheres to the gum arabic surfaces and avoids the oily parts, while the oily ink used for printing does the opposite. Effectively creating a ‘wash’ is the ever-looming challenge.

Chop it down

With the edge of my hand...Jimi Hendrix is indescribable. This is a 3-plate lithograph from my college days. I used a xerox transfer to capture the essence of Jimi but ironically because it transferred opposite it looks like he is right handed. My bad, Jimi is definitely a lefty.
