The Man

Costumes in tow, a keg in the shower and micro-soft white sand, I had arrived at Burning Man in Black Rock City Nevada. Structures of creativity erected in honor of all that is rebellious, deafening sound systems and the independent feeling of a gift economy all culminated from years of flame-throwing, gun poppin’ survivalists joining forces in the desert. Jolly Roger duct tape, monster slippers and a willingness is all you need...oh yes, and a bit of adventure never hurts. Any desire to lose your top and go for a bike ride?

Bloom HD

Recently we downloaded a cool application to our iPad called Bloom HD for our one-year-old son to play. Beginning with a blank color --- every time you touch the screen it creates a sound and a visual. I took a couple photos with my iPhone to demonstrate the coolness factor!

Colors

The chaos of life contained in shades of experience. Rich hues mingle, absorbed in their own vibrancy, perhaps finding a complimentary dance partner. Possessing a unique resonance, the vortex of sound is often times seen in colors.

Livalect or lyaric is a created dialect of English in use among members of the Rastafari movement. Wordsound, derived from the Rastafari principle of “Word, Sound and Power”, has often been compared to West African concepts regarding a power of essence being encapsulated within the pronounced sound of a name or word. In Jamaican Patois irie means powerful and pleasing, excellent, highest, and to be at peace with your total state of being. Wishing everyone an IRIE 4/20 and an empowering Earth Day!
