Creating ease in life generates well being. The concept of “pain”
limits the feeling to exactly that. If the concept changes to a passing
“sensation” going from moment to moment the limitation is lifted. There
would be less suffering with minimal awareness of afflictive emotions.

The Man
Costumes in
tow, a keg in the shower and micro-soft white sand, I had arrived at
Burning Man in Black Rock City Nevada. Structures of creativity erected
in honor of all that is rebellious, deafening sound systems and the
independent feeling of a gift economy all culminated from years of
flame-throwing, gun poppin’ survivalists joining forces in the desert.
Jolly Roger duct tape, monster slippers and a willingness is all you
need...oh yes, and a bit of adventure never hurts. Any desire to lose
your top and go for a bike ride?

Rockies
The view from

breath-taking views no doubt inspired the saying, “The higher you

Thoughts
Consistency,
ritual, repetition, repeat. What are your daily exercises? Do you have
extra time? Perhaps we could get all the people with extra time to send a
little bit to those that have no time? Just a thought...

Positive
Continuous mindfulness is a
possibility for all of us. Existing from moment to moment is truly a
present. Whatever you resonate will be your reality, positively!

Whole
We are more
than the sum of our parts. Labeled, divided, separated from
nature...this is how ‘they’ would like us to perceive ourselves.
However, the truth is that ‘they’ are actually a part of ‘us’ regardless
of their denial. Integrated as a whole ‘we’ are one.

Solstice
Five years
ago today I married my best friend in a meadow. I am one of those people
that never thought it could happen to them. Doomed to be eternally
single? You never know where love is lurking, waiting to pounce.
Sometimes you just have to open your heart to the unknown.

Aerial
A snapshot of
my window view leaving the gorgeous Yucatan. Capturing a moment in time
through my iPhone lens. Who would have thought almost anyone could take
an aerial photograph? Technology and worldwide travel have provided us
an opportunity to take such images through various platforms including
fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, balloons, blimps, rockets, kites, and
parachutes. Cool!

Conspiracy
Geoengineering
(or climate engineering, climate remediation, and climate intervention)
refers to the deliberate large-scale engineering and manipulation of
the planetary environment. Is our government knowingly releasing
chemical agents into the atmosphere? Yes. Some say this is a conspiracy
theory. A conspiracy theory explains an event as being the result of an
alleged plot by a covert group or organization or, more broadly, the
idea that important political, social or economic events are the
products of secret plots that are largely unknown to the general public.
By no means does “conspiracy” imply a falsehood or something untrue,
more accurately it is something hidden. Do you have any pictures of chem
trails you’d like to share?

Isis
As an ancient
Egyptian goddess she was worshipped as the ideal mother and wife as
well as the patron of nature and magic. As protector of the dead and
goddess of children her cult was popular throughout Egypt. The worship
of Isis eventually spread throughout the Greco-Roman world, continuing
until the suppression of paganism in the Christian era.

makes a certain image pop into your thoughts? Do you have recurring

Iron Lady
Ahhh
Paris! The tower stands 320 metres (1,050 ft) tall, about the same
height as an 81-story building. La Tour Eiffel, nickname La dame de fer,
the iron lady is a puddled iron lattice tower located on the Champ de
Mars. Built as the entrance arch to the 1889 World’s Fair, it is named
after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the
tower.

Sea Star
About
1,800 living species of starfish occur in all the world's oceans. Most
starfish typically have five rays or arms, which radiate from a central
disc. However, several species frequently have six or more arms. I absolutely love the water, perhaps I was a sea star in a previous lifetime?

Fourteener
La
Plata Peak was my first! In mountaineering in the United States a
fourteener (or "14er") is a mountain peak that exceeds 14,000 feet
(4267.2 meters) elevation. (This term is not usually significant outside
the Western United States) La Plata Peak is over fourteen thousand feet
in elevation and the fifth highest mountain in Colorado. It is located
in the Sawatch Range in northwestern Chaffee County, approximately 20
miles (32 km) southwest of Leadville just south of Twin Lakes and
Highway 82 on the east side of Independence Pass. Needless to say I was
completely zausted by the end of the climb. My sleeping bag a toasty
fire and the stars soothed my aching feet.

Dahlia
Gathered in the wild and cultivated, it was used as a food source by indigenous peoples. The
Aztecs used them to treat epilepsy and employed the long hollow stem of
the (Dahlia imperalis) for water pipes. The indigenous peoples
variously identified the plants as "Chichipatl" (Toltecs) and "Acocotle"
or "Cocoxochitl" (Aztecs). Commonly called "water cane", "water pipe",
"water pipe flower", and "cane flower". Who needs a new water pipe?

When I
finally laid ink to paper, the desire to pass my drawing class was the
motivation to observe simplicity of form. Now looking back I am glad to
have this memory of that moment, the point of action portrayed in a

June Flower
Delicate
texture of petals reminds me of life’s fragility. Similar to a flower
one moment we are alive and blooming, whereas the next moment, however
inconvenient it may be, we’ve been plucked for an inescapable end. Enjoy
your choices for at any moment you could be picked to join the
universal bouquet.

Crow
Recent
research has found some crow species capable not only of tool use but
of tool construction as well. Crows are now considered to be among the
world's most intelligent animals. The Jackdaw and the European Magpie
have been found to have a nidopallium approximately the same relative
size as the functionally equivalent neocortex in chimpanzees and humans,
and significantly larger than is found in the gibbon.

Solarize
I’ve been
having fun lately with my photo application on my iPhone 4s called
Dynamic Light. The coolest feature I think is the solarize filter that
takes any simple black and white and trips it out. I’ve been fantasizing
about fashion lately so here is a sparkly little number by Susana
Monaco.

Realism
Aesthetic or not, reality exists independently of any external observers. In the visual arts the term
denotes any approach that depicts what the eye can see, such as in
American realism, a turn of the 20th century idea in arts, Classical
Realism, an artistic movement in late 20th Century that valued beauty
and artistic skill. It gets a lot more real when the model is nude,
don’t you think?

Younger
Realizing
nature is harsh, actually more like violent, I feel blessed to be alive.
Anyone that has had a near death experience knows an appreciation for
the simple things goes a long way. This image was taken after my
birthday hike up Waipa Valley in Kauai 2005, it’s hard to believe that
was seven years ago! I’m thankful to have made it through another seven
year cycle, how about you?
