Native of Jalisco, Mexico, tequila agave is produced by removing the
heart (piña) of the plant in its twelfth year. Harvested piñas normally
weigh 36 to 91 kg (80–200 lb). It is rare for one kept as a houseplant
to flower.

Light It Up
Upon
requesting their best tequila our waiter suggested we start with the
tasty tourista appetizer of tortillas and burnt queso. Many cocktails
later we were almost tempted to light up a cigar from this statue’s
generous flame. Mexico at it’s finest...tourista finest that is.
